Word Module 1

If you don’t have MS Office, please activate your FNU Student email. Through this email you will have access to OFFICE 365. Please DO NOT submit links to your documents. Download them to your computer (as a Word document) then upload them to Blackboard.

You may also use Libre Office (libreoffice.org) or Open Office (openoffice.org). They are free and will work with Apples and PCs.

Assignments being submitted from this point on will need to have the following information in them:

On the File Tab, under INFO (on the right side of your screen), you will see properties.

  • Place your name in the AUTHOR area
  • Your course id (CGS1030 – HCD) in the SUBJECT area.  

If you do not see any of the areas specified above, look at the bottom for SHOW ALL PROPERTIES.  

This information will also need to be applied to all documents for Word, PowerPoint and Excel. It will be needed on all assignments submitted from this point forward. Points will be deducted if the information is not included

Jump over to find Module 1 of Microsoft Word. It is the light blue section in your book. Be sure to read the module before attempting the exercise.

Be sure to read the module and complete the tutorial as you read. The module will help you understand what needs to be done in the exercises assigned.

Complete and SUBMIT the following:  

  • Module Tutorial
  • begin on page WD3
  • Follow the steps in your book.
  • Any documents and images needed can be found in the Course Documents section
  • If it says: “If requested by your Instructor”, be sure to complete this step. It IS requested.
  • Save your document as yourname-W1-1.
  • Please be sure to put your actual name on it.
  • IN THE LAB #2: Creating a flyer with multiple pictures
  • page WD54
  • Follow the steps in your book
  • If it says: “If requested by your Instructor”, be sure to complete this step. It is required. (step 17)
  • ignore step 22
  • Save your document as yourname-W1-2.
